Westren Himachal

Day 1
Arrival at Jammu railway station / Airport and transfer to Katra situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is located. On arrival check-in and overnight at hotel in Katra.
Day 2
After buffet breakfast start trek to Holy shrine. The shrine is a distance of approximately 14 kilometers (8.4 miles) from Katra. This track requires a steep uphill climb till a place called Sanjichhat (around 3 Kms from Adkuwari) and then a downward climb for another 3 Kms till Bhawan. While Adkuwari is at an altitude of 4800 feet and Bhawan at about 5200 feet, Sanjichhat is located at an altitude of 6200 feet. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji resides in a Holy Cave located in the folds of the three peaked mountain named Trikuta (pronounced as Trikoot). The deities are in the shape of three natural rock formations called the Pindies. There are no statues or idols inside the Cave. A geological study of the Holy Cave has indicated its age to be nearly a million years. After Darshan, trek back to your hotel at Katra for overnight stay.
Day 3
After breakfast depart from Katra to Dalhousie by surface. On arrival check in at hotel. Dalhousie, in western Himachal is full of old world charm and holds lingering echoes of the Raj era. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4
Morning proceed for local sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. The place is named after the British governor General of the 19th century, Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful churches. Visit Punjpula, Subhash Baoli, St. Francis Church and St. John's Church. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5
After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed for a full day tour of Chamba & Khajjiar. Khajjiar, often called India's Switzerland where the exquisite glade has a circumference of about 5 km. along its fringes. Thick forests of deodar climb the slopes and the snow-line rests above these woods. After visiting Khajjiar drive to Chamba town. As a former princely State, it is one of the oldest town in surrounding mountains and dates back to the sixth century. Visit Laxmi Narayan Temple, the Chowgan: Chamba's wide concourse, Bhuri Singh Museum; Named after Raja Bhuri Singh of Chamba and St. Andrew's church. Evening return back to Dalhousie. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6
After breakfast depart from Dalhousie to Dharamshala by surface. On arrival check in at hotel. Dharamshala also known as little Lahsa, has been the seat of his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetans, since 1960. Afternoon leave for Sightseeing covering Mcleodganj, Dal Lake, Dalai lama temple, Bhagsu Nag and Naddi. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Dharamshala. Visit St. John in the Wilderness, State Museum, War memorial and Norbulingka institute. Rest of the day at leisure or you can visit local market. Overnight at hotel
Day 8
After breakfast, you shall be transferred to Dharamsala Airport or Railway Station by private vehicle. Trips end here with a bag full of memories to look back upon with relish and nostalgia!
